Members’ varied interests and backgrounds are reflected in our programs. If your choice is working the soil to grow beautiful flowers, edible plants, or containers and windowsill gardens, there is much to learn and share. Many speakers are experts in their fields, and members occasionally present programs. We sometimes have a potluck and planning session at the first or last meeting of the year, and in December we create small evergreen tabletop arrangements for the enjoyment of various groups and organizations in the area. Meetings are held 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of the month, September to May, in members’ homes and on field trips to local farms and gardens. Leaders: Sally Esckilsen-Bush and Kari Michalowski.

Garden Amateurs II
Beginning and experienced gardeners learn about various aspects of gardening and related topics from programs given by members and from occasional guest speakers. Although meetings in the past have been held in the evenings, we now meet at the Ann Arbor City Club at noon for lunch with programs beginning at 1 pm. Leaders: Margaret McClamroch and Judy Wilhelme.

Note: Garden Amateurs I disbanded in September 2019.
